I designed this cover and interior with the author's life story in mind—I wanted it to be accessible, open, pretty. The white dress symbolizes the struggle many overweight women have with presenting themselves to the world, and the green watercolor echoes the book's invitation to readers to create their own beautiful, artistic, "graceful" life.

 

I especially enjoyed helping art-direct the photography sessions with the book team. Philip Geiger's photos captured the deliciousness of Chef Paola Mikes' recipes perfectly (and we should know, because someone had to eat the gorgeous food she made!)
